This Privacy Policy explains what ByteBunny, LLC (“we”, “us”) collects when you use Cruise Price Drops at cruisepricedrops.com and its email alerts (the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. What we collect

Information you give us. If you create an account: your email address and a password (stored only as a one-way hash by our authentication provider). If you set up watches: the sailings and products you choose, the alert type, and any purchase or target price you enter. If you contact us: what you send.

Information collected automatically. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) kept for security and troubleshooting; whether an alert email was delivered, bounced, or reported as spam; your theme and cookie choices, stored in your browser only; and, if you allow analytics, usage data collected by Google Analytics (see section 5).

What we do not collect. We never ask for or store your cruise line login, reservation number, loyalty number, or payment card details. We do not collect precise location. We do not buy data about you from third parties.

Price data is not personal data. The prices we display are read from the cruise line’s public Cruise Planner listing and are shared across everyone looking at the same sailing. They contain nothing about you.

2. How we use information

To run the Service: show you your cruises and watches, evaluate prices against your alert settings, and send the alert emails you asked for. To keep it working and safe: detect abuse, diagnose problems, and enforce our Terms. To communicate with you about the Service, such as a change to these policies. We do not use your information for profiling or automated decisions with legal effect.

3. Email

We send email only to addresses that have been verified through the sign-up code. That means: a welcome email when you create your account; the price alerts you set up; a weekly summary of the prices you watch (on by default, and you can turn it off in Settings or from the link in the summary, while keeping your alerts); a one-time reminder if you create an account but never set an alert; and essential service notices. The weekly summary may include a clearly labeled travel tip, which can be an affiliate link (see section 5). Price alerts never contain advertising. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can turn emails off in Settings; both take effect immediately. If an email to you bounces permanently or is reported as spam, we stop sending to that address.

4. Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with service providers that process it on our behalf under contract: Amazon Web Services (hosting, database, authentication via Amazon Cognito, and email delivery via Amazon SES), all in the United States; and Google LLC (website analytics through Google Analytics, see section 5). When you follow an affiliate or advertising link, the partner receives the visit as any website would (see section 5); we do not give partners your email address, account, or watches. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights or safety of anyone, or as part of a merger or transfer of the Service, in which case this policy continues to apply.

We do not share your information with Royal Caribbean or any cruise line. Our price checks are made from our own servers and are not associated with your account or identity.

5. Analytics, advertising, and cookies

Necessary storage. The Service uses browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember your theme and cookie choices. These are needed for the Service to work and are not used to track you.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics, provided by Google LLC, to understand how many people visit, how they found us, and which pages they use. Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) and collects information like the pages you view, how you reached the site, your browser and device type, and approximate location derived from your IP address. We do not send Google your email address, your account details, or your watches. Google Signals and ad personalization are turned off. Google’s use of this data is governed by its own policy; see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Page view counter. The site also keeps its own count of page views: for each page you open it records the page address and, on the first page of a visit, where you came from (for example a search engine or a social network). It uses no cookies, stores nothing that identifies you or your device, and is not shared with anyone. The counts are kept for 400 days.

Your choice. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, analytics cookies are off unless you select Accept. Elsewhere they are on by default and you can turn them off by selecting Decline. You can change your choice at any time from “Cookie settings” in the footer, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Advertising. The Service does not currently show ads. If we display third-party advertising in the future (for example Google AdSense), the ad provider may set its own cookies or identifiers to show and measure ads, which may be personalized where permitted; where consent is required by law, we will ask for it before those cookies are set. We will update this policy before that happens.

Affiliate links. Some links to travel services, such as hotels near your departure port, port parking, or excursions, may be affiliate links through partners such as Stay22, Booking.com, or Expedia. If you follow one and make a booking, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The partner may use its own cookies or link parameters to record that the visit came from us; its own privacy policy applies on its site. We label these links, and they never affect the prices we show or the alerts we send.

6. Retention

Account details and watches are kept while your account exists. Alert history is kept for 90 days. Website access logs are kept for 90 days, and security logs of blocked requests for 30 days. Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months. Shared price observations are kept for 12 months. When you delete your account, your cruises, watches, and alert history are deleted promptly; a short-lived deletion marker prevents a stale login session from recreating the account, and backups roll off on their normal schedule.

7. Your rights and choices

You can view and change your watches, turn alerts off, and delete your account from Settings at any time. Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and California privacy law), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise a right that Settings does not cover, email hello@cruisepricedrops.com; we will respond within the time the law requires. We do not sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined in California law, and we do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

8. Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to what the Service needs, and passwords are never stored in readable form. No method is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your information we will notify you as the law requires.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where that is the applicable age), and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International users

The Service is operated from the United States and your information is stored there. By using it from elsewhere you understand that your information is transferred to and processed in the United States.

11. Changes

We may update this policy; the date at the top shows the current version. Material changes will be posted on the Service or emailed to account holders.
